Adelaide has a cars and coffee meet for every weekend of the month. Nobody tells you that, because each one lives in its own Facebook group and its own corner of the city. This is the whole month on one page: one meet for every Sunday, a couple of Saturdays for the keen, and what to expect at each, from the biggest of them, Vic Park Pitstop bringing everyone to the city to more local meets in a little town in the hills.
All of them are free to turn up to, all of them welcome any car, and all of them are over by about 10am so you still have your Sunday. Dates and any changes are on each event's page, linked below, where you can RSVP and see who else is going.
First Sunday: Coffee N Classics, Gepps Cross
The month starts in the north. Coffee N Classics runs on the first Sunday at the Gepps Cross Homemaker Centre on Main North Road, from about 7:30am until 10am. It draws classics and interesting cars of every kind rather than one make, with plenty of room to park up and a coffee within walking distance of the cars. A good one for first-timers because nobody is precious about what you arrive in.

If you live south, the same Sunday morning has Cars and Coffee Blackwood, one of the longest-running meets in Adelaide, in the Woolworths car park at 107 Coromandel Parade from about 7am. It sits right where the suburbs turn into the hills, so the crowd is a proper mix: hills locals in restored classics, a strong showing of Australian muscle, tidy Japanese metal, and the odd exotic that has come up Shepherds Hill Road for the run. The regulars know each other, which makes it friendly rather than cliquey, and the car park is big enough that you are never squeezed. Get there in the first half hour, because the rows with the cars fill early.
The location is the other reason to go. Blackwood is the doorway to the best driving roads on this side of the city: Coromandel Valley and Clarendon one way, Belair and Upper Sturt the other. Most people leave the meet and go for a drive, so if you have never done the run through Cherry Gardens or down to Clarendon on a quiet Sunday morning, this is the meet to start from. Pick whichever of the two first-Sunday meets is closer, or do both if you are up early enough: Gepps Cross to Blackwood is about 35 minutes on an empty Sunday road.

Second Sunday: Victor Harbor Classic Cars N Coffee
The second Sunday is the one to make a morning of. Victor Harbor's classic cars and coffee meets at the foreshore car park opposite the Hotel Victor from 7:30am, which means an hour's drive down through the Fleurieu in the early light to get there. Free, any make, and the ocean is right behind the cars. Take the long way home through the vineyards.

Second Saturday: Cars and Coffee Edinburgh
For a Saturday morning instead, Cars and Coffee Edinburgh runs on the second Saturday at Sturton Road in Edinburgh, north of the city. Classics, moderns and exotics in one car park, relaxed and well organised.

Third Sunday: Vic Park Pitstop, the big one
Vic Park Pitstop is the biggest regular cars and coffee in South Australia. It runs monthly, usually on the third Sunday, at Victoria Park on the eastern edge of the city: the parklands circuit where the Adelaide 500 runs, with the cars displayed along the old pit straight.
The scale is what gets people. At the August meet Drivesome photographed 530 cars in one morning, 724 photos and 318 different models, and that was not everything on the grass. The mix is the whole of Adelaide car culture in one place: HT Kingswoods and HZ Monaros next to R32 Skylines and 180SXs, an Evo X two rows from a Series III Land Rover, RX-4s, Silvias, restomods, exotics, and a lot of very clean daily drivers. If you only go to one meet a month, this is the one.
How it works: the display area opens from 8am and the gates close at 10:15am, so aim to be rolling in early. They do close the gates if to many cars come. If you are coming in your everyday car or would rather not display, park in the surrounding streets rather than the display area, which is laid out so that nobody gets boxed in. Coordinate with mates and arrive together if you want to park as a group. The rules are enforced: no revving, no skids, cameras on the exits, and anyone caught hooning is banned.

After each meet the cars go into a Vic Park Pitstop virtual car show on Drivesome, where you can flick through every car that was photographed and vote for the best. If you were there, find your car and claim it. Vote in the Vic Park Pitstop virtual car show.
Also on the third Sunday: Breakfast with the Devils
The Dirty Devils Car Club hosts Breakfast with the Devils on the third Sunday of the month at Whiteline Transport in Green Fields, doors open at 8am. It is the meet with the best food: bacon and egg rolls, cinnamon donuts and coffee served by the club, with the cars parked up around the depot. A proper club running a proper meet, and a good way to see what a club is like before joining one.

Last Sunday: Coffee and Machines, Aberfoyle Park
The month ends in the southern suburbs. Coffee and Machines runs on the final Sunday at the Aberfoyle Park Hub Shopping Centre, near the Wild and the Sun cafe, with cars arriving from 7:30am. Cars and bikes both welcome, coffee and food on site, and a crowd that skews towards modern performance alongside the classics.

Last Saturday: Coffee N Chrome, Mile End
Running since 2017, Coffee N Chrome is the pre-2000 classic car and bike meet on Railway Terrace at Mile End on the last Saturday morning of the month. The theme is "driven, not hidden", so expect cars that get used rather than trailered. If your car was built before the turn of the century, this is your Saturday.

Meet etiquette, briefly
Arrive in the first half hour for a spot with the cars rather than the shoppers. Park where you are pointed. No revving, no burnouts on the way out, ever: every one of these meets exists because a shopping centre or a business says yes each month, and one idiot is how that stops. Take photos, talk to the owners, and post them on the car's page afterwards so the next person searching that car finds it.
