The Renault Samsung SM7 is an executive car that was manufactured by Renault Samsung Motors from 2004 to 2020. Designed as part of the "EX" project initiated in October 2002, the SM7 was based on the Nissan J31 platform, sharing similarities with the Nissan Teana and the sixth-generation Nissan Maxima. When unveiled to the public on 30 November 2004, the SM7 was positioned as a high-end model with a distinct design aimed at projecting a more robust image compared to the Teana. Notable efforts were made to differentiate it from the Teana in terms of appearance and features. One of the standout features of the Renault Samsung SM7 was its robust safety equipment, which was included as standard.
