The Lynx Eventer is a coachbuilt shooting brake conversion based on the Jaguar XJS, produced by British specialist manufacturer Lynx Motors International from 1982 to 2002. The car transforms the XJS coupe into a two-door estate body style, extending the roofline rearward to create a practical load area while retaining the XJS drivetrain and mechanical components. The Eventer HE, which ran from 1981 to 1996, corresponds directly to the Jaguar XJS HE era and used the 5.3-litre V12 engine with the Michael May Fireball combustion chamber technology that defined that generation of XJS. Each Eventer was essentially hand-built to order, making production numbers very small and individual examples highly sought after among Jaguar-oriented collectors.
