The FPV Falcon FG was the second and final generation of Ford Performance Vehicles' Falcon-based performance sedan, built on Ford Australia's FG platform that underpinned the standard Falcon from 2008. Succeeding the BA-based FPV Falcon, the FG generation continued the formula of factory-tuned performance variants engineered to challenge Holden's HSV range in the Australian market. The Super Pursuit Boss 315 variant represented the range-topping expression of the FG generation, with the Boss 315 designation pointing to a high-output version of FPV's Boss V8 engine producing figures in that nameplate's established power bracket. The FG generation carried the FPV Falcon nameplate through to the conclusion of the model's run in 2014, closing out over a decade of factory Ford performance sedans in Australia.
