Doninvest

Doninvest was a Russian automobile manufacturer based in Taganrog, active during the late 1990s and early 2000s, that assembled passenger cars largely using Daewoo platforms and components under licensing arrangements. The company operated out of the TagAZ plant in Rostov Oblast and produced models including the Assol, a compact hatchback derived from the Daewoo Nexia platform, the Condor, a sedan also related to Daewoo underpinnings, and the Orion, a subcompact based on the Daewoo Tico. Doninvest represented a broader pattern of post-Soviet Russian industry attempts to establish domestic car brands through CKD and SKD assembly of foreign-designed vehicles rather than developing original designs. The brand had faded from production by the early 2000s as the TagAZ facility shifted focus to assembling other marques including Hyundai models.
