Rebadged Mitsubishi Pajero. The Mitsubishi Raider, introduced in 2005 as a 2006 model for the US market, is a pickup truck developed by Mitsubishi Motors. Based on the Dodge Dakota, it marked Mitsubishi's return to the pickup segment following the discontinuation of the Mighty Max in 1996. The name "Raider" was previously used for the Dodge Raider SUV (1987-1990), a rebadged Mitsubishi Montero. While Mitsubishi was producing their Triton model, avoiding the chicken tax was a key consideration in partnering with Chrysler to manufacture the Raider in the US, side by side with the Dakota at the Warren Truck Assembly plant in Michigan.
