Rebadged Alfa Romeo Tonale. The Dodge Hornet, a concept car mini MPV, was designed and developed by Dodge and unveiled in 2006. As Dodge's first foray into building a car of this size, the Hornet was initially slated for release in 2010. However, due to the 2009 financial crisis and the subsequent restructuring of the Chrysler Group, the concept was ultimately shelved.
The "Hornet" name has a history that dates back to its use on the revolutionary Hudson model and later on AMC vehicles. Following Chrysler's acquisition of American Motors Corporation in 1987, the rights to the "Hornet" name passed to Dodge, AMC's new parent company.
