The Citroën ZX was a small family car manufactured by Citroën from 1991 to 1998. Positioned as Citroën's entry into the competitive European market dominated by the Ford Escort and Vauxhall/Opel Astra, the ZX filled a gap left by Citroën's GSA discontinuation in 1986. The model aimed to cater to families seeking a compact yet well-packaged vehicle. Citroën's BX had previously attempted to straddle both small and large family car categories with moderate success by being "between sizes." In 1993, Citroën's collaboration with Peugeot resulted in the utilization of the Citroën ZX chassis for the Peugeot 306. The Peugeot 306
