Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) served as the performance vehicle division for Holden, officially established in 1987 and headquartered in Clayton, Victoria. As a privately owned company, HSV specialized in modifying various Holden models such as the Commodore, Caprice, Statesman, and Ute for both local and international markets. Additionally, the company worked on modifying select non-Holden vehicles within the General Motors lineup, albeit in limited quantities.
The vehicles produced by HSV were primarily marketed under the HSV brand name, although there were instances in the early years where some models were sold under the Holden brand in Australia. For international sales, excluding New Zealand and Singapore, the vehicles were marketed under different badges such as Vauxhall and Chevrolet Special Vehicles.
