It was introduced as a replacement for the Roadmaster line and remained the flagship Buick sedan throughout its production run. The vehicle was available in various body styles including a two-door sedan, two-door convertible, four-door sedan, and five-door station wagon. Initially built on GM's rear-drive C Platform, the Electra underwent a significant downsizing in 1977.
