The facelifted 740Li Steptronic replaced the pre-facelift 740Li from 2012, using a turbocharged V8 petrol engine rated at 320 hp and 450 Nm. Despite the nominally lower power figure compared to its naturally aspirated predecessor, the improved torque delivery and eight-speed Steptronic gearbox produced a quicker 0-100 km/h time of 5.7 seconds. Rear-wheel drive and the long-wheelbase body are retained.
