The S tronic variant of the B8 S4 sedan used the same 3.0-litre supercharged V6 FSI with 333 hp and 440 Nm but routed drive through a seven-speed dual-clutch S tronic gearbox paired with quattro all-wheel drive. The 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.3 seconds was marginally slower than the manual version, though the S tronic offered faster in-gear shifts and became the sole transmission option for the B8 S4 after 2011. This gearbox configuration proved popular enough that Audi carried it forward as standard for the remainder of the B8 generation.
